How to Design a Fresh and Modern Logo in CorelDRAW (DietMart Example)

A logo is the face of any brand—it must be memorable, versatile, and reflective of the business values. The DietMart logo is a perfect example of how to combine creativity with simplicity. In this post, I’ll walk you through the process of creating a similar logo in CorelDRAW.

Step 1: Conceptualize the Logo

DietMart is all about health, freshness, and nutrition. To communicate this visually, the design uses:

Before opening CorelDRAW, sketch a rough idea to decide on the text placement, leaf shapes, and curves.

Step 2: Setting Up in CorelDRAW

  1. Open CorelDRAW and create a new document.

  2. Set your page background to white for clarity.

  3. Choose a bold, friendly font for the word Diet. Fonts with soft curves work best because they feel approachable and natural.

Step 3: Designing the Text

  1. Type “Diet” and “Mart” separately.

  2. Use the Shape Tool to slightly modify the characters, giving them a unique look (e.g., rounding corners or adjusting curves).

  3. Apply two-tone coloring:

    • Diet: green (primary) with accents of orange.

    • Mart: smaller text in green, placed neatly under the "t".

Step 4: Adding the Leaf Elements

  1. Draw leaf shapes using the Bezier Tool or Ellipse Tool + Shape Tool to adjust curves.

  2. Place a large leaf above the "D" and smaller leaves around the text.

  3. Fill the leaves with gradients of green for depth and freshness.

Step 5: Adding the Dynamic Curve

  1. Use the Pen Tool to create a smooth curve sweeping under the text.

  2. Duplicate and adjust it slightly to form layered swooshes.

  3. Apply green and orange fills to make the design vibrant and energetic.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

  1. Group all elements together.

  2. Test the logo on different backgrounds (white, black, textured) to ensure it maintains visibility.

  3. Export the final logo in PNG (transparent background) and vector format (CDR, EPS, PDF) for flexibility.
